The Law Offices of Hal Schuhmacher is dedicated to providing effective representation in the area of criminal defense. In order to best represent those being investigated or formally accused by the government, our firm limits its practice area to the Florida Keys (Monroe County). To allow for personal service to our clients, we have established and own two Offices in the Keys (Key West & Marathon) and have a full and experienced staff.
Hal Schuhmacher has been providing criminal defense services in Monroe County for more than 20 years. Hal Schuhmacher was the founding member of the local Chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL) and has been on the Board of Directors for over fifteen years. Due to the experience and focus in the area of criminal defense, Mr. Schuhmacher has had multiple opportunities to both present and organize lectures to hundreds of other attorneys. Mr. Schuhmacher is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Michael Litrenta, our associate who was formally an Assistant State Attorney in Monroe County, has solely practiced in the area of criminal law and is also experienced in defending those in need of legal representation. As the President of the Monroe County Chapter of FACDL, Mr. Litrenta is also involved in a leadership position and has lectured other local attorneys.
Deliberately confining our experience and practice area to criminal defense in the Florida Keys ensures that we have complete familiarity and experience with all of the individuals and agencies involved in our local criminal justice system. Our firm strongly believes in the Constitutional foundations of both our Country and our State. Accordingly, we stand prepared to assert and defend the rights of all those being investigated or accused of violating criminal law. In order to protect your rights, we would strongly suggest that any person who is being investigated or charged with a crime to neither speak nor provide any evidence to law enforcement without first consulting with an experienced and competent criminal defense attorney.
